Yet another use
Feb 25th
While Cole was sick, rather than bring Cole downstairs, we just left him in his crib and put a smiling stuffed Cole out. Happy Cole. Happy parents.
Potty training will be an adventure
Feb 24th
I checked Cole’s diaper immediately after these shots and sure enough, he was wet and full — this is not a good sign for potty training.
I guess I should be worried
Feb 23rd
Ever since Cole’s lesson yesterday, he screams “Shazaam!” every five minutes and hits the floor. I am sure it will work itself out like everything else.
Only one way to learn
Feb 22nd
We figured the best way to let Cole know about the dangers of the steps was to figure it out himself. Hard to watch, but after 5 attempts over the course of an hour, he figured out that “what goes up, must come down”. Apparently his tolerance was 9 steps.
Real tough guy
Feb 21st
After his mom went to sleep, I painted her face like the Joker in the Dark Knight. I went into Cole’s room and tickled his toes until he woke up — knowing his mom would come get him.
When she rounded the corner — the look of sheer terror on his face was priceless. It definitely was worth the hour of cleaning his pants, crib and finally calming him down.
Just like Batman…tough guy.
At least they are clean
Feb 18th
Cole has been working extra hard on licking all the baseboards in our 100 year old house. The weird thing is he gets this crazy smile on his face when he is done, babbles neurotically for 5 minutes and passes out. Seems to wake up the next day fine, so no harm, no foul.
History Lesson
Feb 15th
I have forgotten most of the history I learned in high school, so we told Cole that February 14th was President’s Day when the great George Washington raced Abraham Lincoln and Grover Cleveland to the cherry tree with the wooden teeth….and that’s how…the…Olympics came to be.
The next lesson will be about the time Woodrow Wilson fought John Adams on the grassy knoll, which we commemorate every year on Boxing Day.
Mystery Solved
Feb 11th
Cole couldn’t figure out why the meals stopped. We told him a few times that we moved to a self serve option. It took him a while, but he figured it out.
